Dr. Hassam is Professor of Science & Philosophy and a member of the Board of Trustees at East-West University in Chicago, Illinois. His interdisciplinary specializations include Knowledge Management, Information Science and Cognitive Neuroscience. He has presented seminars internationally to businesses and corporate sectors on topics such as strategic visioning, creative and critical thinking, global ethics, and challenges of the information explosion.

Affectionally known in the industry as “Wizard of POS”, Richard Halter has 50 years’ experience in software development. He has been involved in leading edge development in several industries, oil and gas, FAA, travel, banking and retail. In 1995, he wrote one of the first certified Internet-based credit card authorization systems.
Since 1999 Richard Halter was the Chief Technology Architect involved in the support and development for the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS), an internationally reaching standards organization dedicated to reducing the costs of technology through standards. He wrote numerous white papers and Point-of-Sale (POS) Schemas covering 36 UnifiedPOS devices; trained Retailers and Vendors in 20 countries all over the world on Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS); created courses on Retail Architecture which takes the student from the wire through cloud computing, mobile retailing, microservices all the way to Internet of Things; helped create patent on real time online tax collection; authored book on retail technology called “ARTS for Retail”

RICHARD MADER Retail Business Advisor
Richard Mader has more than 40 years of experience in retail information management, and has served as SVP and CIO for Boscov's and Bon-Ton Department Stores, as well as Director of Corporate Systems for Federated Department Stores. Mader served as Executive Director of the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) from when it was founded in 1993 through 2012. Under his leadership, ARTS developed 32 standards that enable the almost total automation of retail operations, many of which have been implemented by hundreds of retailers and software solution providers across more than 95 countries.

He believes that Scanov’s real-time data capture technology will help alleviate painful data entry bottlenecks in the accounting world, especially in the vastly under-served SMB space.
